Monica Griffin
Creative Direction & Design

Monica brings 20 years of experience with a background in digital and print design developing brands and creating thoughtful multi-channel campaigns to engage users. Having worked in various industries including the performing arts and landscape architecture, she enjoys collaborating with teammates to bring brands to life and use design as a communication tool.

Most of our work falls into one of these two categories:

Visual Branding & Logo Design

If you’re looking for a new brand or sub-brand.

Brand Application

If you have a brand or sub-brand, but need help with implementation.

Visual Branding & Logo Design

Whether you’re looking for an entirely new visual identity for your brand or organization, or a sub-brand for a specific event or initiative, we can help. Here’s how we work:

Step 1
Inspiration & Brand Discovery

In this first step of developing your visual brand, we’ll have a conversation about your audience and get to the heart of what you’d like the brand to convey. We’ll ask you to pull together examples of real life brands and visuals that inspire you (often on Pinterest, if that’s your kind of thing!)

Step 2
Designing the Visual Brand

Next, we’ll start to develop your new brand, taking into account the discussion we’ve had about your goals and inspiration. We’ll leave this phase with the foundation of your new brand established:

  • Logo
  • Fonts
  • Secondary Elements like color and supporting graphics
  • Visual Brand Usage Guidelines

Step 3
Visual Brand Implementation

This is where your new visual brand comes to life and we provide you with a toolkit to convey that brand effectively with the world. A typical brand toolkit might contain:

  • 2 Social Post Templates
  • 2 Merchandise Placement Examples
  • 1 Print Flyer

Case Study: Visual Branding
TBG Partners

Objective

TBG Partners, a landscape architecture firm, made it a priority to come up with engaging programs for its employees as part of an overall retention program. One of these programs, Idea Lab, a company sponsored research program intended to provide professional development funding for one eligible employee per quarter. Creating an internal brand for this program was intended to raise awareness and motivate staff to apply.

Strategy

In order to appeal to an age-diverse staff, we saw the need to display this program as an opportunity to advance one’s skills while having fun at the same time. With this in mind, we set out to create a colorful and bold logo with design elements that would embody a scholastic theme and work in progress.

Result

Employee submissions reached their highest numbers that year and created an internal buzz that resonated in increased entries for subsequent quarters. Idea Lab became a running program that employees talked about and looked forward to participating in. It was also used as a recruitment tool for the company to set itself apart from other similar firms with a strong visual component to back up the program.

Brand Application

You’ve got a brand you’re happy with, but need help bringing it to life across all your different channels. We’ll build out easy-to-use templates for things like organic social media posts, social media ads, print collateral, and wherever else your brand lives. Here’s how we work:

Step 1
Getting Acquainted with your Brand

In this first step, we’ll study your company’s established brand guidelines and review current applications of the brand on any current social platforms and collateral.

Step 2
Template Design

Using what we’ve learned about your brand, we will design templates for digital and print that you’ll be able to use for practical applications when communicating with your audience.

Step 3
Brand & Template Coaching

Now that you’ve got the templates to use in the real world, we’ll provide ongoing support to be sure you feel comfortable using those templates. We’ll provide any guidance you need to continue conveying your brand effectively.

Case Study: Brand Application
Wellthy

Objective

The app Wellthy provides personalized support to help you tackle the logistical and administrative tasks of caring for the ones you love, including yourself. With a brand refresh already in place, Wellthy needed help from a design professional to implement their new look across a wide range of digital and print collateral.

Strategy

Using the client’s established brand guidelines, we used Figma to produce a large number of digital flyers and social media templates. By using Figma, we set up the templates to be accessible to the client for future use. Once created, we had a screen shared virtual meeting to go over the ins and outs of accessing the templates through Figma so that Wellthy could freely update new copy and export files on their own.

Result

The client was armed with the confidence to use and edit an array of new branded templates moving forward implementing light copy changes and exporting files.
